What is the name of your state?Vt. Lets say you are in a custody battle. You get on the stand and ONLY talk about your kids daycare, and what you do day to day with your child. You and your soon to be husband is buying a house. Then your ex talks about what he does, and has his girlfriend since before the seperation say she THINKS the mom emotionally abuses the child because he is always crying when they pick him up from the daycare. You know the bla bla bla's of hostility shot back and forth to fight for the kid. The mom says nothing other than everyday stuff, BUT this is her 3rd divorce is 15 years, and engaged again. Anyways, is it slander if the judge from the bench says this after all the testimony....Mrs. so and so...you are a liar and an unfit mother. You go from relationship to relationship, and now living with a man and not even divorced yet. I Can honestly say the attorney's mouth was on the floor when it happened. Mom lost custody...seems odd the judge decided to put her two cents in from the bench. maybe paid off? Hmmmmmmm Faith

I wouldn't say the judge was paid off...I'd say it is likely the case involved documents/evidence and previous history/reports which more accurately reflect the situation, than what occured in the hearing only.

My nuttyX was a completely different person on the stand than he is in real life. But that didn't combat the piles of documentation on the case.
