I have been paying on a judgment from a past debt since 2007, I just received a letter from a “new” collection company that apparently owns this debt now. Is this legal if court already heard and set a judgment that I have been paying on for this debt?

You might find the new collection agency taking more aggressive steps to collect on the judgment, even if you have been working toward reducing the debt by faithfully making monthly payments.

Do you have a written agreement that allows for payments on the judgment?
