What is the name of your state? Massachusetts. A CA for amex obtained a default judgment against me, debt is well within SOL. I am not employed, do not own a house or car, and don't have any non-exempt assets. Today I received a letter from the CA attorney saying they hold an execution against me on behalf of amex and unless I pay in full or make payment arrangements in 14 days they will have me summonsed into court to obtain an order for payment against me, and then there is the usual they reserve the right to summons me or not under 940 CMR... I did a google search to see what the order for payment means beyond the obvious, as in can I be jailed when I can't come up with a lump sum payment, but can only find child support orders. What does this order for payment mean when related to CC debt? Is this like bankruptcy where the household income would be reviewed even though the card is not joint? Can a payment be ordered based on my spouse's income? If our checking account has a reserve line of credit, can they force me to write against the line of credit to make a payment? Right now I am panicking and want to call the CA to explain I don't have anything but want to know a little more about this first. Thanks in advance for any explanations? undefined
