What is the name of your state? OH

A judgment was awarded to Citibank against me on February 26, 2003. The Certificate of Judgment reads: "in the amount of $7,765.07 with interest at the rate of 10% per annum from 2/26/03, and $117 costs."

I am paying $659.92 each paycheck toward this through wage garnishment so the balance is declining quickly and it should be paid off in March.

My question is this: The attorney's office is also trying to charge me for other costs that they have incurred. Can they do this since it wasn't specified in the judgment?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My response:

While you haven't detailed the "other costs", if those "costs" are "allowed" statutory "costs", post judgment, then yes they can.

I need to call my contact and ask her to send the details in writing. Can you give me some examples of some allowed statutory costs?

Thanks!

My response:

Sure. Their court filing fees, their costs to collect the judgment, their interest on the judgment itself, etc., etc.
