I am writing in from North Carolina. I just purchased a '99 Pathfinder on May 5, 2002. A rep. from the dealership called me on May 7, told me the truck needed to be returned because the insurance has expired. I told her that something must have been wrong. Therefore, I needed to call the insurance company. Well, she stated that dhe could not let me drive around with no insurnace which was understandable and I told ehr that I would bring the truck back to the dealership. WE hung up. I took the truck back on May 8. The lady that I spoke with was not in. However, I left the truck and the keys with receptionist and left a message for the rep. I spoke with. She returns my call on May 10 and tells me the truck is mine, the bank took care of the insurance issue, and I have to move the truck from the lot ASAP or it will be towed at my expense. At this point I am fuming because she was the one that told me the truck needed to be returned. I knew nothing about some bank taking care of my insurance. Is that something I want? I don't even want the vehicle anymore from this dealership. They have provided lousy service to me. Is there any way I can get out of this contract?

My response:

From what you've stated here, no.

"I am Always Liable"--is there no 3-day grace period in the state of NC on big purchases?
