I live in ross county, ohio. my son was in trouble for carrying a knife to school back in 1998. He was not put on probation or fingerprinted to my knowledge. He is now 18years old and has applied for a data entry job. They took fingerprints and his came back bad, due to the trouble in 1998. Isn't his record supposed to be clear after 18 and are they allowed to access that information now?

You need an attorney, but ask him to expunge his juvi record, or have them sealed. There are certain things now that cannot be sealed if it happened as a juvi here in Florida, but I do not know about other states.

One reason for an attorney is to find out exactly what is in his record. There could possibly something else on it that he doesn't know about. In other words, somebody may have used his name when they got arrested. It happens quite often.
