What is the name of your state? Texas

How can a juvenile be tried as an adult in court?
I had a friend who was arrested recently, and he later told me that he was tried as an adult because he "looked" older than 18. That doesn't sound right, but again, what do I know?
He was 17 when he went to court.

Your friend was lying.

Juveniles are tried as adults if they are of a certain age and are able to understand the consequences of their actions the same as and adult.

(This is an exceptionally simplified answer.)

Thank you, your reply helped.

A great friend I have, huh? lol
Call the juvenile officer in your county and just ask for the general rules on when a juvenile is tried as an adult...it will be an eye-opener.
