I have been harassed more than I can count by a 16 or 17 year old juvenile in front of my house who lives next door to me and my family. This juvenile has told me over 5 times to shut up and go inside my house, flashing gangs sign at me, and intimidating stares. This juvenile is home schooled by his mother who hides from my wife and I when approached by us about her son's behavior. There is a step father who lives with this juvenile and he has told me on three ocassions that this juvenile has a very bad temper, has been to juvenile hall, has been investigated for a rape, and has no love lost for me. The step father also said, "he is not mine".

The police have been called 5 or 6 times on this juvenile by me when he has displayed this behavior. The police have told me to obtain a restraining order, then they can act on this juvenile.

I have found the restraining forms online, should I complete them myself or consult an attorney for any advice.

My response:

Thought #2 is advisable.

However, I'm sitting here thinking: "This little law-abiding citizen will really pay attention to a restraining order - - what, with rape investigations, gang affiliations, and the rest. Yeah, he'll pay attention to a restraining order. When birds have lips."
