What is the name of your state? Louisiana.
Our insurance co. has settled with our damage due to the hurricane. The check was made out to us and the mortgage co. We were told by them to endorse the check and overnight it and they would overnight it back. Of course they never did. When we called they said we were in default because we had not paid our mortgage (they gave us a 90 day reprieve). We desperately need to start repairs and have paid out a lot of our own money and have no more. Time is of the essence as we have roof damage. We were awarded $23,000. and the mortgage company has it now.,
