What is the name of your state? FL

Does anyone know what happens if a person is sued for support and refuses to come up with the financial documentation necessary to verify income, assets, etc.

I understand there could be some sort of summary judgment, but how would the court know what to set it at if there were no financials to review to determine equitable ratios, etc.? And once a person has missed the deadline to produce such documentation, and appears intent on not giving it up, does there have to be a hearing, or does the other party have to file a motion for contempt or what would happen next?

Thanx for any guidance.

My response:

The demanding party writes, files and serves a "Motion to Compel", explaining the situation to the court, and asking for an order to compel the other party to "answer", and for monetary sanctions.

compelling the contrary

The other party has filed BK, so I don't think monetary sanctions are going to scare him at all, but if he doesn't produce, and I keep filing motions to compel, at some point this judge is going to get pissed off. This isn't the sort of thing he could get arrested for, is it? I don't want it to get to that, so if that's the case, I'd need to know when to back off. There's enough acrimony, and I just want the darn information, not to get him in bracelets. Yikes.

Thanx, IAAL.
