i'm a trucker driver who recently went through the state of ky. and was stoped at a weight station. they did a very detailed search of my paper work and log books and did'nt find anything wrong at all. but then asked those famous last words can i search your vehichle? well assuming they was just talking about my truck and the intimadation of the dmv on truckers i agreed. well after an 45 minutes of searching they found approx 3 grams of pot in my suitcase. of course they aresseted me charged me with poss. of pot, drug para.(rolling papers, bowl, and sccissors) and having drugs in a commercial vehicle. they are all misdemeanors and i don't know if i have a chance at beating this or not. i don't know if they should be allowed to go into personal items such as suitcase or not. as a trucker you feel intimadated to say no to dmv. but why would they even feel like going through my truck when all paper work and logs were in perfect order? i've never been in trouble with the law not even a ticket! should i plead guilty to charges? or hire lawyer and try to beat the charges?
