What is the name of your state? Texas. Hello, I am currently a senior at the University of North Texas. We are doing a case study in my business policy class and we are supposed to come up with a new proposal for our client (we are not allowed to name our client). Our product has to deal with technology in the classroom to benefit both teachers and students. Our new proposal caters to the teachers with the major selling point being that if any sale is made to a Texas Region, District, or individual school that a 20% contribution will be made to the teachers retirement fund of Texas (not the indivdual's retirement fund but an "overall" fund benefiting ALL teachers regardless of if they have purchased from us or not. My question to you is this: Is this legal? Would this be considered a "kickback" even though it is not benefiting "one" person or a small group of persons? My gut feeling tells me that it would not be considered illegal but I need to find out ASAP as we present to our class and teacher on Tuesday. Please help me if you can or re-direct me to someone who can. Thank you for your prompt attention and response.
