I have a son by an ex-girlfriend. We received papers from the hospital records department about paternity and were in the process of completing them when my ex disapeared with our son. She quit her job, moved away and I can't find her. I have hired a private investigator who thinks we may find her and serve her with paternity papers from the court.
I live out of state but I visited him for two weeks when he was born. I have paid regular child support without any orders and I have paid all medical expenses incurred by his birth. Last month she stopped accepting child support. If and when this goes to court, I am afraid the judge may still award her with custody because she is the mother of a young baby and simply say don't run away again. But she kidnapped our son. She has been on the run for four months and he is only 8 months old. What can I do to make sure that legally she does not get away with this? I am very concerned for my son's safety. Please please help. Does anyone have any good advice?
