IMO- If you let your kids go live with dad just because they do not like your husband you are just showing them they can get whatever they want by complaining. There is nothing wrong with a little strictness, and stability with children (of course as long as it is not overboard). Do they have any valid reason for not wanting to live with you and your husband?

they are 11 and 13 and no they dont have a valid reason but i wanted to live with my father when i was their age and still hold it against mom for not letting me, i promised my x husband if either child wanted to, id let them but now im having second thoughts.

Well, again IMO your children are not old enough to decide for themselves who they live with. You need to decide what you feel is in the best interest of your children. At that age I wanted to live with whichever parent would let me stay up later, do more, have more fun. So, they may not necessarily want to move for the right reasons. You should sit down, talk to them and find out there reasons, and go from there. Only you can decide, and of course your ex has a say. But, just remember that if you decide to let them live there it may not be as easy to undo if you change your mind.

When my daughter was 15 she wanted to live with her dad, so I let her. She lasted a year before moving back home with me, because she found out the grass isn't always greener...

How often do they see dad? Do you have court orders for custody/visitation?
