What is the name of your state? My State is California, the incident happened in my step son's home of Nevada

On June 8th my step son (18 years old) left a graduation party and went to a local park with several other party goers. Some time later a vehicle drove by and the passenger of the vehicle fired several shots. My step son was killed instantly. Another young man died a few days later.

The shooter was caught two days later and is sitting in clark county jail. He is 20. I'm not sure about the driver of the vehicle.

My question is this: Is there any civil remedy we can take against the insurance company of the vehicle that was driven? Do any of you senior member see any legal civil remedy at all, or should I just leave it all alone?

This may sound harsh, but my family has recently been faced with another very horrible tragedy and we will be looking at having to pay for long-term care for our daughter as she is recovering from a bad accident that has left her in a coma. We paid 6k for his funeral. and would like to try and recover those funds.

I would really appreciate any help and advice any of you seniors can offer. I would also like to thank all of you for the prayers and good wishes you offered. What is the name of your state?

Sorry for you loss. Auto insurance companies pretty much excluded any claims if the vehicle was used during the commission of a crime.

I don't think you have your PM's enabled, but I've been wondering how your daughter is doing.

Again, I am so sorry for your loss, but I believe Racer is correct.

FYI:

I sent Moburkes a PM with a link to this thread. Insurance is what she does for a living. Surely, if there is anyway possible, she'll know.
