What is the name of your state? Alabama

My question is whether or not if a District Attorney has knowledge of a child under the age of twelve being allegedly molested is required by law to report the crime and to whom?

Uh ... how does the DA have this knowledge? Is it rumor? Or did someone actually report it to him and he just ignored it?

You need to check with your local laws in Alabama. Probably a good place is to go to the public school system to see what they are legally/professionally bound to do/report if child abuse is suspected. Our public school system has a strict policy that is in accordance with Maryland state laws regarding our obligation to report any suspected abuse to the authorities.

Do you know for certain the DA has personal knowledge of the abuse? Do you know the child in question and do you suspect abuse? Anybody can report child abuse - call up the National Child Abuse hotline and ask them what the guidelines are for Alabama.
