What is the name of your state? IL

Curious, does anyone know how the trustee conducts there research? Do they look at your case first during the meeting and then if they choose to do so, look into your case? I am just overwhelmed as to how the trustee could find out a lot about you. (then again anyone can!) I am sure this forum could give me pages and pages of how they conduct their research, but if it could be summarized in a minor paragraph, that would be good! ;) thanks for any input you may have.

I don't think trustees have time to do much research at all. They might look over their stack of files for the upcoming day but I bet that's about it. I think it's during the 341 meeting that they might zero in on a red flag and decide to pursue it further. Another biggie seems to be if an ex-spouse or a disgruntled creditor knows of untruthful things in the BK paperwork.

Honesty is the best policy!

They are very busy, probably doing 50 or more cases a week right now... my trustee did not even bother to notice that I had filed my amendments two weeks before my 341 meeting.

However, remember that your case can be reopened anytime if anyone suspects fraud...
