What is the name of your state? Texas
Lady- I am going to answer the lawsuit in the recommended format. Yesterday I changed our joint account to a wife only account. I have a single only account but only leaving 20.00 in it. After I answer the lawsuit what is the next step? Does WolAbr attorney answer (in Houston) or does the main WolAbra answer (in another state). Have you seen cases as such mine? What are the usual course of events?

Your next step, if you're wise, is to promptly retain a lawyer to adequately protect your interests. Unless, of course, you're a masochist. If you're the latter, and your pain is your pleasure, then just keep on doing whatever it is you're doing.

While you're busy doing that, I'm going to perform heart transplant surgery on myself. There's some really great self-help heart transplant surgery advice available on the Interent. I believe that Igor, who is one of my Siberian Huskies, is a suitable donor. Wish me luck.

Steve you must be a lyer oops sorry I meant Lawyer- It seems that all your answers lead to Hire a lawyer, see a lawyer, retain a lawyer, why don't you go back to your lawfirm or hole which ever is appropriate and stay there. You are of no help to anyone other than the great advice you give of go see a lawyer. (sounds like a bad recording). Don't even answer this message because I know your response will be as usual useless to me an everyone else.

Nsitx - The lawyer that will handle it is the TX lawyer that Walpoff hired to sue you in TX.

Once you answer the lawsuit, if you don't already have a court date, then you should be notified of that date and you need to make sure you go. Be warned though, standard practice for them is to file a motion for summary judgment first, even if you have a court date assigned. Basically what that means is the lawyers are say that you have no case, you lose, they want the win awarded to them right away w/o a court hearing. Most of these types of cases go this way, so don't be surprised if you get such a notice.
