LadynRed... advice for this problem?

What is the name of your state? Arizona

On April 30th, I sent a CMRRR to Merchants Credit Guide Co for a 10+ yr. old debt they were trying to collect on my DH.

It was a C&D/SOL advisement letter along with the statutes for AZ & FL (where we resided when the debt defaulted in 93)

Anyway... to date, this mail has NOT been delivered, nor signed for.

I'm getting nowhere with the post office.. and I check daily on usps.com website for information... nothing.

Any advice?

I've checked my address, and it was correct.. I just have no idea now where/what to go/do!

Thanks!

KH

It could be that just will not accept certified mail. Another method others have used is to send the letter UPS or FedEx, just require a signature for delivery and that will be your proof that they DID get it. They don't expect UPS or FedEX, but they are on to CMRRR ;)

Are they still harrassing you ?

No, no harrassment - thankfully. We actually had only gotten 1 letter from Merchants, and I sent out my CMRRR.

They obviously have been doing this to a ton of people just from forums (for 10+ yr. old debts), however, I've been watching for threads directly dealing with Merchants, and have yet to see anyone post that they didn't get their green card back, or Merchants has refused mail.

So, I just wondered if there was something else I should do... send a second letter out... or anything else!

thanks,

KH

You can try sending out a 2nd letter, but if they haven't been harrassing you, I'd just ignore them. If them come back, send a 2nd letter by one of the other methods I mentioned.
