What is the name of your state? Missouri

We are considering the purchase of 4.67 acres of land that adjoins our existing property. There is a building (hunting cabin) on this 4.67 acres. The seller is proposing that we puchase the 4.67 acres of land, however; the building has been leased to a group of relatives for 100 years and will not be part of the purchase. He states that we can then purchase the building from the group of relatives.

I just wondered what a knowledgeable person in this area would make of this situation.

Thanks for your time!

**A: what would you do with the proposed property?

We currently own 93 acreas that adjoin this 4.67 acres. We use it for recreation (hunting, 4 wheeling, etc.) This acreage would just be an addition to our existing land.

In order to access the 4.67 acres and this building (hunting cabin), you have to go thru our existing 93 acres.

You are under no obligation outside of a valid lease that goes with the purchase, to allow anyone on YOUR land, whether or not you purchase the additional land.

If you do purchase this land and there IS a valid lease to use, when the lease expires do not renew. If no lease exists, you are not obligated to continue another's 'agreement'.

**A: not so fast, we do not have all the details. There very well may exist a prescriptive easement.
