I have a complicated situation with my landlord.I started my lease in August and have had problems ever since. It was agreed when i moved in that I had the 3bdr mobile home and an acre of land with which I could do whatever I wanted to.I pay $450 a month nothing included and $25 for water. The place started falling apart shortly after I moved in;the water wouldn't shut off in the bathtub, roof leaking/ceiling falling in,tiles coming up.The only thing she fixed was the bathtub, which was 27th of January. She keeps making up things to charge me with;chickens(don't ask),and up to $20 extra on my water (I only take a shower once a day and don't have a dishwasher or washer and dryer)She turned off my water because I refuse to pay extra. She also wants me to send my water payment to her ex husband who has no part in my lease. As for the acre of land, she has put up a fence so I can't use it.I am now paying up to $750 a month upkeep for this place.I am a divorced woman trying to make a life for myself,I can't afford this. Can she just take advantage of me like that?and make up charges?I need to know my rights and what I can do about this. What are the laws in Texas?

this broad is a redneck low life scum of the earth .

so sue her in civil court.....what she did is against the law to shut off your water, it is also illegal for her to charge you anything over what is written down in the lease...

I would , send her a letter that she has broken the lease and you are witholding rent payment until the lease is honored by her, that you have full use of the land that the water is sent to her since her name is on the lease. That there is water damage and you will NOT be responsible for any damages due to her lack of maintenence,

also if she wishes to break the lease, you would agree to leave the premisis, in exchange for no rent in february, ALL of your security back, and ALL of your moving expenses, and in a bank certified check.

OR ELSE call the police and have her arrested next time she acts like a nazi!.
