What is the name of your state? il.
I haved lived in the same apartment for five years. Due to a recent argument with with the landloard over maintanece issues we think they might not issue us another lease. If they dont how long will we have to move out after our current lease expires?

**A: not until the expiration of the time period your landord gives you in writing to terminate a m/m lease pursuant to the IL L/T law.
Do you think it may snow today?

**A: they must give you written notice to terminate your m/m (month to month) lease and must take you to court to evict if you holdover.

Check your state landlord-tenant laws. Tenants usually well protected, so long as they follow the laws and their lease.

**A: and that goes without saying for all of the 50 states. Now how does your comment apply in this thread if the writer is correct and does not get a NEW lease?
