What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? sc

I took my boat down to my dads over the weekend and left it there bc it is getting some work done to it. I get a note in my door saying to park parallel to the house where my boat usually sits. i called the landlord and she says that she wants me and my upstairs neighbor to park like this from now on. i explained to her that there is no other place to put my boat... which has been there for 10.5 months. i told her that i was bringing it back this coming weekend and she said that she would have to get back to me before i brought it back... making it sound like she didn't want it back and that she was going to see if she could not let me bring it back. I did not have it put into my lease that i would have the boat but before i signed my lease i asked if it was going to be an issue and she said it was fine. when i mention that to her on the phone, she informed me that she didn't say it was 'fine' but that it was 'ok' and that she has never been happy about it. today was the first day i had heard this...

i have been here 10.5 months and only have a 1.5 months left. Can she make me not have my boat here after she said it would be 'ok' and it has been here for so long? i don't want to put it in storage especially after she said that it was okay to begin with.

Is this parking area designated parking, or public parking? Is parking outlined in your lease?

If designated, as long as gives notice to ALL of her tenants, or if it is part of the lease than she can.

If it's public parking, than she can demand all she wants...

As long as you are not violating any city ordinances than you are fine.

thanks for the replies. The house sits on the far end of a 1/2 acre lot making for a very small back yard and a very big front yard. There are bushes right at the road for privacy and then it opens up to a huge gravel area 2x the width of the house. We were parking by just pulling straight up to the house, but now she wants us to park on the far left side of the gravel area in a row. sorry, its kinda confusing to explain. but to directly answer the question, there is no designated parking... just gravel everywhere. there was nothing said about parking in our lease.

thanks again!

there is a big square area in front of the house about 2x the house's width. instead of pulling up and parking along the length of the house, she now wants us to park in a line going from the house to the street, which would not give any room to park the boat bc you would need adequate room on the far right to turn in to park in that orientation.

thanks again for the input.
