I live in PA. About 2 mths ago my neighbors moved out. Our landlord asked my roommate and myself if we would be interested in moving into their apartment because our apartment is zoned for a business as well as a residence and he could make more money if we moved and he rented our apoartment as a business. We agreed and the painting began. A week later a "For Rent" sign was in the window of the apartment and we had not gotten a response to our question about a move in date from the landlord. My roommate called and asked and he just said that he had changed his mind. Coincidentally, he was also saying that he was raising the rent in our apartment $75 and that he would only raise it $25 if we moved. Nothing else was said after that. Two weeks ago we had a problem with the A/C and he came over to check it out. Our new neighbors were moving in also. He told me that he was raising the rent and that some of my roommates birds were going to have to go(They are covered in the lease). Yesterday we got a certified letter thanking us for our four year tenancy and telling us to be out by August 8. Our lease is not up until September. What are we entitled to in this situation and how do I go about getting it?
