Landlord entering apt. unannounced

I live in Georgia.

I know that most leases have a provision that basically allows a landlord/complex manager to enter any unit at his/her discretion. I don't have a copy of my lease in front of me, but I'm sure it includes something to that effect.

I expect notification of planned inspections and maintenance as a courtesy. Most places I have lived, I have always received prior notice.

I have lived in my current apartment 2.5 years. Shortly after I moved in, I got a frantic call from the complex manager that a maintenance person had entered my apartment and my cat escaped. Thankfully, I hurried home and was able to coax her out of the nearby woods (adjacent to I-285, no less) before anything catastrophic happened. At that point, I made it VERY CLEAR that they were never to enter the apartment again without notice unless there was a true emergency.

The old management staff is no longer here. Today, I came home and realized that someone had been in my apartment (it appears the HVAC filter was changed).

I know I can't threaten legal action for them coming in unannounced (I'm assuming that, at least). Can I make it clear to them that if they do so again and my cat (or any posessions) suffer damage that they will be held liable?

Thanks in advance for any input.
