I live in Ohio. My landlord slid a notice under my door stating that we were being evicted and to vacate the premises immediately due to rent not arriving by the first of each month (though paid each month). This was not a from letter from any legal entity, just from him. We were not given any warning or chance to correct the problem. Please advise. I am absolutely hysterical. Karen

Boy are you slow.........why do you rent from such jerks...ahhh because its cheap thats why..

The landlord cannot evict you unless he takes you to court and you can explain to a judge why the rent is"late"

If he tries to lock you out then call the police and have him arrested.....locking you out is illegal..

He has to give you 30 day notice, when you pay your rent today, and if he refuses, well then he has to start formal evcition procedures

This is what you get for being stupid and not having a written lease...you will learn from this experience
