What is the name of your state? NC

I have a few questions:

We lived at another trailer owned by our landlord, we wanted something bigger, so we moved here. We never signed another contract. Does the old contract apply to the newer place? The price changed of course.

Also, our big mistake, we rarely got receipts. Last month when our landlord told us that we were two months behind, we told him we were not. He said that he had it all recorded on his computer. He then went on to tell me that he didn't have any receipts in his receipt book. So all he has is a computer read out. Will that stand up in court, seeing how he can just add what he wants on the computer? We really messed up by not getting receipts.

Evidently this is not the only way you "messed up".

In what form did you pay, Money Order, Check, Cashier's Check?

He doesn't want to deal with the banks, so he always asked for Cash.

What do you mean, not the only way we messed up? We're only one month behind, and that was last month. Tried to pay him and he said to keep it and use it to move out.

Well keep talking and I will keep adding:

Never and I repeat NEVER make payments in cash unless absolutely necessary and in that case NEVER do so without receiving a receipt!!!!

We're suppose to go to court Friday, although papers haven't been served yet, we got the papers in the mail that he sent us himself, Monday.

That's really all I can think of right now.

Will the old contract transfer over here? We never signed a new one. What if he marked out the old address, price on the contract and put the new info? Will that carry over?

What about the receipts? Will he have to show proof with receipt copies? Or will the judge go with his computer record?

Lot of lessons learned with this landlord! No matter what keep accurate records! I will keep detailed records with our next landlord. We're moving out this weekend. It's so frustrating, knowing that we don't owe that much, but have no way of proving it!

HomeGuru - example of what?

I'm completely stressed to the limit. He's doing deceitful and underhanded stuff, and last night was totally the last straw. It's always stuff right below the law too, so that we can't charge him with anything.

I'll be so glad to get out of here. Even then though, I don't think it will be the end.

Elaborate on what? You're giving me two word answers/questions and they don't make any sense.

I've told you everything I know. If there's something else you need, ask it.
