I am thinking of buying some property and renting it. However, I am nervous. If the tenant commints some illegal offense, or criminal activity, can I be held responsible?
I live in CA.

especially if YOU are also involved in the criminal activity, or when you find out about it you look the other way, instead of IMMEDIATELY starting to evict them.
