What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hawaii

I live in a 4plex building and every unit has their own washer and dryer outside of the building. My washer and dryer are on the right side of the building along with the washer and dryer of my downstairs neighbors. The order goes: washer 1, washer 2, dryer 1, dryer 2. The units that are mine are washer 2 and dryer 1, while washer 1 and dryer 2 belong to the girls downstairs. The units are hooked up to each of our electric systems. The girls that live downstairs just moved in August 1.

I came home from work early yesterday and discovered that the girls have been using our dryer. I knocked on their door and no one answered, so I left a note on their washer that said that they were using my dryer and that I moved their clothes into their dryer. One of the girls knocked on my door when she was home and started arguing with me telling me it was her dryer and she's been using it all month. I told her that I've lived here almost a year and that's not the case. Come to find out, the landlord mis-informed the girls and told them it was their dryer when, in fact, it's mine. I also got my electric bill yesterday and it was noticeably higher than it usually is.

I talked to the landlord and all he could say was "I guess maybe I told them the wrong thing" and stuff along those lines. So the girls have been using my dryer for almost a month now and he just chalked it up to a "whoops." I don't know if this is worth me pursuing this any further or not. Should I just let it go and hope that the girls continue to use their dryer and not mine? Or should I get some recourse and, if so, what should I do?

Thanks!
