What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? South Carolina. My landlord is an EMT and we are in a "roommate"/"landlord" situation. I advised her that I was bipolar because I wanted to discuss it with her. She then divulged this information to her boyfriend. Her boyfriend also verbally assaulted me and she allowed him to come into the house for hours at a time on several occassions when she was not present which made me uncomfortable. I submitted my 30 days notice to her today and told her since 30 days from now is only the 23rd of April, I would prorate my final rent check to include the 23 days of the month. We have no written lease and she is saying I have to pay her the full rental amount. Has she violated my tenant rights? Has she committed a "constructive eviction"?

In most states, your's probably included you need to give notice of at least one full rental period to end on the last day of the month. So yes you would likely owe full rent through April 30th.

Why you CHOSE to reveal a medical condition to your "landlord" aka roommate is known only to you but perhaps you have learned from that mistake.

The rest - doesn't matter.

Give your notice in writing, pay April rent IN FULL and then move out whenever you want. Be sure you do not leave any damages behind and fully clean your areas, etc.

Landlord never signed a vow to secrecy. Landlord tenant law does not cover secrets between roommates, even if they happen to be your landlord. Now, if she found and divulged the information while working in the capacity of an EMT, then you would have a lawsuit. But, you willingly told on yourself. What's the big deal, half of all the people I know are bipolar or at least claim to be when it benefits them.

Pay her the full rent and move on.

Pro-rated to the 23rd as you suggest and expect trouble when you vacate. Next time, don't divulge your health/personal information to others. Only 1 person can keep a secret
