We moved into our house 5 months ago, on a month to month lease and our landlord wants to sell the home. The first meeting was last week, when she called me at work explaining that she wants to refinance the home. I let her come over with a realtor and some other guy I thought was appraising. When the walk thru was completed, the realtor came out and said he wants to put a lock box up so people can view the house, and my landlord said she wanted me to be there when people want to see the house and give me 24 hour notice....UMMMM, just refinacing? Anyway, long story short- the realtor in the last week has only given me 10 min notice, 6 hr.notice and the last one was yesterday, which was 18 hrs notice I finally said NO. I had a long talk with the realtor explaining that I feel like I am put in the middle, and I dont feel comfortable with the whole situation. I called my landlord and left a message, she agrees with the 24hr notice. The realtor on the other hand said to me, its hard to sell a house when no one can see it...blah blah blah. What are my rights? I feel like I have been put in an ucomfortable spot, I want my landlord to be able to sell, however the realtor is bending the verbal agreement to suit his needs. Anyway, I am looking for a new place...wish me luck. State of Kansas

OK here is the best idea.....

leave the place dirty, leave dirty clothes near the front door...and if they come over unannounced have a big pile of pasta you can turn up high on the stove with lots of GARLIC, or some smelly fish...

they will get the message 24 hours.......

OR you can ask the landlord to PAY you to move, and the house will be so much easier to sell empty.

Write a letter stating that you will be out of the apartment on Feb 28th, if the landlord gives you Feb rent FREE, plus ALL of your security back PLUS a couple of hundred for moving expenses,

The landlord just might take you up on it.
