I have paid rent on a house through March 31st, the end of my lease. I have already moved out the of house. The owners sold the house and escrow closed on March 24th, at which time the new owners took possession. Am I entitled to receive 8 days rent back from the owner, since they no longer have possession of the house?

In most states the sale was SUBJECT to the lease, which means you could have stayed until it ended. If you chose to vacate earlier, you would not be entitled to a rent refund. If the seller asked you to vacate by closing, you would be. If rents were "apportioned" then the buyer got the rent for the 8 days.
