After a year, my ex-landlord is suing me...He kept my security of $600 plus has charged me an addition $800 for damage...

One room needed the carpet replace, however he charged me $200 + for re-painting..I think painting is the normal wear and tear of an apt...Plus, before I moved out, I asked him for paint because I wanted to do touchup he provided me with pain to do so..Ge says now, it was the wrong paint and its spotty..Well, yes it is, you have old faded paint and new paint on some of the walls...

I do not think I am responsible for painting, especially since he says he had to re-paint after I did touch up with paint he provided...

I have paid him what I can, I was laid off and had no money to pay anyone..I have paid him a total of $300 and owe him probably 500...Less the 200= for painting....

Any suggestions ?

I live in North Carolina..
