CAN A LANDLORD, IN MINNESOTA, TALK TO OTHERS, SUCH AS FRIENDS FAMILY, NEIGHBORS, TO TELL THEM A PERSON IS BEHIND ON THEIR RENT. THIS LANDLORD HAS CALLED A FRIEND, A SISTER, A NEIGHBOR, GRANDPARENTS, ANYONE SHE CAN TO TRY AND GET MONEY FROM THEM. SHE HAD ALSO BEEN IN THE HOUSE SNOOPING THROUGH THINGS. SHE THINKS SHE DOES NO WRONG AND THAT SHE IS ABOVE THE LAW. THAT IS WHY I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF IT IS LEGAL FOR HER TO BE CALLING PEOPLE AND TELLING THEM THINGS SHE HAS NO RIGHT TO!!!!

Please do not type in ALL CAPITALS.

While people are generally free to go around telling truth, there are federal and state statutes governing what may and may not be done to collect debts. The conduct you describe may be in violation of these statutes. Either way, you may want to give written notice to this person to "cease and desist" in this conduct. Then, if it continues, this could violate the statutes.
