landlords being taken to court

What is the name of your state? Ohio
I showed a house to rent to a young woman, She liked it and I asked if she was interested. She said yes. I asked for a security deposit. She wanted to wait till her fiancee cashed his check on Sat, said she'd call and we'd get together. I met her at her work mon eve.I gave her the lease aggreement to sign with her fiancee,to give to me when they picked up the key. She gave me a check and I cashed and deposited in my account. Two weeks later,5 days before she was to move in she called and did not want to rent the place. She asked for the deposit back but I since turned away possible renters, I feel that she should not get it back at least not all if I dont rent it????? She is taking me to small claims court????
