What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

I own and rent a house to a family, and it's been a very good working relationship and I want to keep it that way.

The 60+-year old home has had minor sewer problems, which will require replacement of the sewer line. I am upgrading sewer service and adding a bathroom while doing the repair work.

The renters will be inconvenienced for 3 days. They have to move their basement belongings away from one wall, and they will not be able to use the basement during those 3 days. Also, they will lose water and sewer service for one hour each on 2 days (day 1 and day 3 of the work).

Do I need to accommodate them for the inconveniences of moving their stuff and not having water/sewer for 2 hours? Or is this a reasonable expectation for maintenance? I want to do what's fair.

Our lease doesn't spell out anything specific about accommodations for inconveniences caused by maintenance. Ideas? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

**A: based on your post the answer is no but you may want to offer $100 for the trouble.

No, and don't offer any money. If you do, you will be forever expected to compensate them for any minor inconvenience. An apology and some assistance is all that is necessary.
