My family and I have lived in the same apartment now for 3 years. The first two years on the anniversary, our rent was increased forty dollars, a sum I thought reasonable. This year however, they raised the rent $130 per month with no additional notice (only 30 days.) Is this proper?
Also after two and a half years of clean living, the building (housing about 5 adjoined units) has developed a cockroach infestation. What are the landlord's responsibilities concerning this? I have a baby under a year old and I'm not thrilled with this development.
