I'm a Landscape Contractor in SC. I have a customer that is one of those that will never be happy and sues for anything. I keep trying to resolve his petty complaints and they have continued for 10 months. His lawn looks great. He said he was very happy when I first completed it. He has killed a few shrubs and trees from over watering because he doesn't know how to operate his sprinkler system and he emptied his chlorinated pool out onto his lawn. I paid a lawn care specialist to go out and mow his lawn once and educate him on how to maintain his yard and he cussed him out and told him not to tell him how to take care of his own yard. And told me it was my responsibility to make his yard perfect. I received a letter from his lawyer demanding I overseed his yard (which I have done 3 times, the last time was the day before I got this letter, I also went beyond that and cut out sod and replaced it). He wants me to get rid of weeds that have grown and replace the trees and shrubs that died. But I gave him no warranty on anything and I don't feel I should replace the dead plants due to him not taking proper care of them. And the weeds came up this spring and I did his job last summer. He will take further legal action if I don't do this. What can he do and am I responsible to replace these plants and kill his weeds?
