I receive another email that look like this from another buyer, and here it is...

Hey Seller,

Good day to you,I saw your items diplayed on this site which attracted my imagination just like the same item I have been instructed to get across to my son that has just graduated and ready to begin his life in his own domain.I will like to know if you can ship this items to Africa ,but I really want this items to get to him before his birthday that's coming up in 2 weeks time.I will be making the payment through bidpay coz I have an account with them simply because of their newly introduced measure of their security for both buyers amd sellers.I will need ur name, address and phone number in order to make the payment asap.Lastly,I will be creating the shipment through my company's fedex account while I will only send you the shipping label which you will print out and paste on the package before droping it into any fedex delivery box or at any fedex office in your area, even if they aren't in the office, you can drop it in the front of their office once you have pasted the shipping label on it,they will pick it up.I will be expecting ur name, address and phone number asap.

Thanks and God bless.

and another one that look alike because they all want me to send my laptop to AFRICA, and here is how it goes....

"""Hello seller,
How is business? I hope all is going on smoothly. I am Steve Metton
from USA and i have interest in this item and i will like to
purchase for just olny One of it, I will like the immediate payment
of your item because i will like to present the item to my family
in West Africa,so i will be paying through money order via Western
Union Bidpay and once the payment has been approved i will schedule
a pickup myself through my own fedex account which means i will not
include the shipping money, so pls get back to me with your full
name and mailling address where the money is to be send to and let
me know the total cost for the Two item, let me know if i can
proceed with the payment as soon as possible. Thanks""""
Kind regards,
Steve"""""

NOw, I thought I was up on all the scams, but I never seen this one. Could someone explain to me what the scam is here? They want to send a money order to pay for a laptop. Wait 10 days for the money order to clear, then send the merchandise. Isnt that pretty much standard OP for e-bay anyway? Im not disagreeing here, Im just naive to this one. Could someone please explain?

what? If you are selling something, and the buyer pays by money order, isnt it pretty much standard procedure to wait 10 days for it to clear before shipping?

I just recently posted a laptop computer for sale on a well-known internet auction site. Within a few hours, I received the following emails:

"Dear Seller, Regarding your advert you placed on eBay, which I found it very interesting and I?m ready to buy it from you once you make up your mind to sell it for me. I?m willing to make an offer US$ 1400.00 for: (description omitted by me to protect ad). I want you to get back to me if this offer is okay with you, while You also provide me the cost of the shipment through USPS Global Express mail service 3-5days , because the package will be shipped to me here in Nigeria. I?m ready to make a provision for your payment once you are okay with my offer. I will be happy to make my payment to you by western Union Bid Pay Money Order, Kindly reply today as I hope to have a longer lasting business Relationship with you"
(I might add that the $1400 offered was about three times my 'buy it now' price!!) :D

and
"Hello, My name is Jesse. Please call me at home at 602.XXX.XXXX. I want to click buy it now, but am waiting on your response to do so. I just sold my laptop, and I ship a lot of things through USPS. I would like to pay you with Western Union Money Transfer, because I don't like pay pal. After doing so, I would like to you place the laptop in a USPS Flat Rate Priority Box. Their are 2 sizes, and their is one that will fit the laptop and all the accesories perfectly. It costs 7.88 to send, and it will arrive in 2 days guaranteed. Good deal huh? Please give me a call as soon as you recieve this and I will click buy it now. Thank you very much, (Name) 602.XXX.XXXX"

Of course, I recognized these as scams. My response to both of them was... send me the money first. Needless to say, I haven't heard back from either of them.
Don't you just love these scammers?? :D
