What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

My late husband had 2 sons that he signed off so the step-father could

adopt. It was not an easy thing for him to do but due to a closed head

injury he was not in the right state of mind.

About 2 years before he past away he found out only the youngest son had

been adopted by the step-father. The older one was adopted by a family

member. I have found the younger son living with his mother. I tried to talk

her about medical only so they would be able to watch her sons and put in

their medical records. She stated to me that her son doesn't know he was

adopted and that is why she sent the older one away. This child will be 18

this year Can I legally contact him myself and info him of the medical problems

or would I be in legal trouble? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
