What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

I utilized a laundry service for a big amount of clothing due to a bed bug infestation. Online we are to place the amount of laundry in pounds we have and specify any other items we have that they charge more for (i.e. pillows, comforters, etc.). The service also has selection of needing items dry cleaned and/ or tailored. When I placed my order I estimated that my clothing was 34 pounds, I had 15 pillows, and 1 comforter. I didn't want anything dry cleaned so I specified that 34 pounds needed wash and fold, had 1 comforter, and 15 pillows which came out to ~$230.

The company picked up the laundry and the next day I received a call and the employee notified me that it would be 1.99/lb for a bed bug infestation instead of the usual 1.47/lb and that I wouldn't get the new customer $10 discount and I stated that would be ok. Nonetheless, the day of the laundry drop off, the company called me to state that my card was declined when they tried to charge me $1120. They claimed that I had 281 lbs of laundry, counted stuffed animals as pillows increasing the count to 18, and had dry cleaned loads of items. Being that I would be leaving the next day for Thanksgiving, I paid the amount after no luck disputing the charge so I could get my laundry and have my coat for my trip.

Yet, I still do not feel I was fairly charged. Firstly, I feel that the company should have notified me before completion of the service that my estimate was way off so I could determine whether to continue or not. Moreover, the website states nothing regarding if I do not specify dry cleaning that it would be done regardless nor that they would determine if items needed drying cleaning or not. Moreover, with 281 lbs of clothing and 18 pillows and the added charge for infestation the price would still be around $700. Thus, the dry cleaning added over $400 to my order. Items which were dry cleaned included things which could easily be throw in the wash like thin scarves and small knitted hates which cost $1-2. Yet, they were dry cleaned for ~$6 each. Thus, I want to know if it would be worth filing a small court claim for a refund of the added cost beyond the estimate? If so, would it be better to claim for the amount over $700 or could I claim for more in regards to the amount being significantly more than the estimate and not being contacted?

If the instructions for the items state to "dry clean only" then the cleaning service is not just going to throw them in the wash. Even if the instructions don't specify it, if the professionals (ie: the cleaners) know that the material is only to be dry cleaned, that's what they're going to do. I'll bet it even says so on the web site.

I checked everything and the website does not specify that they will dry clean things on their site. Moreover, I understood 3 of the items and why they were dry cleaned but the rest didn't say dry clean only & instead just say wash in cold water or other information. In addition, some of the items which were dry cleaned were the same item but a different color of some the items which were washed thus it seemed to be a pick and choose whether they wanted to dry clean it or not.

How in the heck can you be off by 247 pounds in your estimate of the weight of clothing? Did you specify anywhere about the stuffed animals?
Ikr! and I didn't specify anywhere about the stuffed animals because it didn't have an option so out of everything I'm fine with them being considered as pillows.

How did you estimate the weight of your items? A suitcase full of clothing can easily weigh 50 pounds, so if you brought a "big" amount of clothing I have a feeling that their weight was accurate.
