we closed on our new home( and sold our first home) in November 1999. Our lawyers office had his paralegal handle all closing documents & actual closing. Heck she even signed the closing documents as the agent for the firm. The paralegal embezzled the funds to pay off our first deed of trust for our old home. And neglected to purchase owners title insurance for us( as we directed her 2 times) as of May 1st we are currently past due on our first home mortgage by 6 months. Our credit report is damaged. How/what can we sue for in the state of virginia? Specifcially in Virginia Beach?

Thanks
TAP

WOW!

Immediately report this to the police and the State Bar of Virginia. The law firm and its partners are liable and hopefully may have insurance. You may want to take this to the papers if they don't make good immediately. And get a new lawyer!
