Angie and den have recently set up in business together. They provide marriage guidance councelling. They have recently placed an advertisement in the local paper publicising the opening of 'Marriage Matters'. Following the publication of the paper, they have recieved a number of letters from businesses who say that they are owned money by Den,who used to run his own company selling football tours of Europe. The letter indicate that his company owes creditors approximately £650k. As a result of this, angie is having second thoughts about continuing the partnership.
Angie has therefore decided to go into partnership with her friend Linda, selling lingerie.
Today, angie has recieved a demand for payment of the rent on the premises that she rents with Den for 'Marriage Matters'. Den tells her he cannont pay the rent and it is none of his business anymore as he has no money. He says that his company is going to be put into liquidation and so he 'cannot be touched for any debts' of either the company or of 'marriage Matters'.

could you please adice angie on what to do....thanxs

My response:

I want to thank you for writing to FreeAdvice.Com; however, this is an American site, dealing in legal problems and laws from the United States of America. Since you are writing from the United Kingdom, I can only advise you to seek the assistance from a Barrister in your neck of the woods.

Good luck to Angie.
