**A: yes Indiana law would protect a neighbor if the next door property owner listed his property for sale and verbally promised to tell the neighbor when the house is sold.

Now if I understand your post and what you are trying to ask, look up statutes of frauds. Pursuant to this statute, all real estate contracts must be in writing to be enforeceable.
