What is the name of your state? Florida

My car was Repossessed about two years ago. I did receive information about the sale and the amount I stilled owed to them. I of course did not have the money to pay them that is why it was repossessed to begin with. They sent a few letters and than stopped and I hadn't heard from them for over a year.

About one month or so ago I had made the mistake of calling AutoNation to see if there was any negotiation on the amount I owed them to see if I could repair my credit report because I was closing on a house soon. I was told when I called that it was 4500 to pay in one lump sum and my total debt was now 6636 because of interest accruing on my original balance of 5400. I was not prepared to pay at that time or make a deal I was just calling for information to see if when I closed on the one house I could pay it than. I tried to explain this and they said if I did not call them back and accept the deal by 5 pm the same day I called the deal was off the table.

I could not accept it because I was in no position to accept this deal at that time. Just yesterday I received a Summons. I called them to see if the only recourse was Court or were there other options available to me. They said because I did not accept their first deal (which I didn't realize when I called I was legalling screwing myself) and because they have now filed with the Cour the lump sum payment would now be 5800 or the full amount paid off over 21 months. I of course have a deadline of today at 5p.m. on this offer or it is off the table and they said they are firm on the 5800. I still haven't closed on the house because there were two hurricanes that hit our area in a short period of time and we are now working on a new contract which is due to close on October 8th and they want their payment by October 10th.

Is there anything I can do at this point or in order to not be responsible for the full amount accept there deal and hope to close on the 8th. If it goes to court it will be higher than the 6636 correct?

Thanks for any light you can shed on this situation.
