My husband and I are buying a house in Nj, closing is in 2 weeks. We opted not to hire a lawyer to review our contract, as we are buying "as is" and are responsible for any repairs. The house has been inspected by a private home inspector and also by a city code inspector. We are satisfied with the amount of work we have to do. Is there any reason why we should still have an attorney present during the actual closing meeting? Obviously we have never done this before and we can't depend on our real estate agent to advise us, because after we signed the contract, her perscription seemed to run out,and she became a conveyor of bad advice.
