What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Alabama

Uncontested divorce - child support set by guidelines - In the papers I received from the lawyer, child support was set @ $240/month - daycare issues arose 36 days after the papers were filed - just past the grace period we were told we had to change anything. I ended up calling DHR to see what I could do about the child support bein raised (his mother was keeping our child free of charge, then 36 days following us signing, his mother tells me she wont b keeping child any longer effective the following day) DHR told me there was really nothing they could do because of the time period, but after listening to me the case worker had me call the lawyer and see how they figured child support. When the lawyer sent the letter stateing child support, it showed $480/month. Lawyers office said father knew cause he signed for it, however his signature wasn't on that particular piece of paper & I never received that paper in anything they gave me. Father paid $240 for 4 months then began paying $480 - the original amount set in the divorce. Lawyer then filed for the back pay(4 months he only paid $240) and filed to hv the child support refigured since daycare was now bein paid. This took place in December 2009 - We FINALLY went to court in December 2010 and child support was raised to $700/month starting immediately, however father would not agree to pay the backpay so I was told the judge would review it or sumthing else had to b filed. Anyway It is now August 2011 and the Lawyer says it's still sitting on the judges desk awaiting signing! Is this normal procedure? Does it normally take this long? Can I call the Judge and question this timeline?
