I have been with the same company for 35 years.recently I was told that I could not park in the place I have used for 25 of those years. I was told to move to another lot.rather than do that I chose to park off of the company property. I recieved a letter of warning and was told that i was still on their property. I told them they were wrong.they then proceeded to go ask the railroad whose property i was on to tell me to move my car.the rail road did not. then they gave me another letter and said that since they cut the grass there they had control of it. Then I was told they controlled access to the property but that if i came down off the road and not over the blacktop I could park there. I then did that and now have recieved another letter and a three day disciplinary layoff. The letter says that I parked east of the company fence and next to the Gardner Denver expressway which is a state Highway.I feel that I am being harrassed. do I have any recourse in this matter. any advice will be greatly appreciated.thank you

If you have been with the same company for many years it seems wierd that now they are raising something. But I wouldn't make a big fuss about it and ask where you can park. But beyond that, what else is going on? Is this a pretext? Or possible AGE DISCRIMINATION? Do you have a union? Or want to speak with a lawyer -- I'd also start keeping a diary and tell NO ONE you are doing that. Read the section on Sex Harrassment under employment in FreeAdvice.
