When doing a lease addendum is it required that the tenant signs or can the landlord just send the notice?

What does your written (original) lease say about changes? Typically if you are still within the lease term, the lease cannot change without agreement of both parties -- but if there is language in the lease that covers changes, that might change things.

However, if you are month-to-month, the lease can change at the begining of any month, and you can either accept it (by either signing or by staying in the place) or reject it by moving out.
