I'm wondering whether all occupants of an apartment rented on a month to month basis, must sign a lease. The apartment complex says she needs a signature from all adult occupants. She already has one signature on file, does she have the ability to "require" another one? I would prefer not to. Can she evict if I refuse?

Eviction is really a moot point -- she can terminate your rental for any reason, including refusal of other tenants to sign leases.

She wants the extra signature because every resident can cause damages, but only the one on the lease is liable to her. She wants to be able to sue everyone and collect from anyone who has money. State law may or may not give her this right. Also, signing the rental application also gives her authority to conduct background checks. Every L should conduct a background check, for the safety of other complex residents.
